Extreme Double-knitting shipping October 12th!

I have been reluctant to post anything due to a number of delays on the Extreme Double-knitting project, but I have a shipping ETA of October 12th. This is the date the printer expects to ship books to me, so there will be some time in transit before they arrive and I can begin fulfilling preorders.

There is the possibility that they will arrive in time for me to bring a case to Rhinebeck, but I don’t want to make promises. As soon as I hear from the freight company with a definite delivery schedule, I’ll reach out to those who preordered to let them know.

For digital-only customers, the Ravelry version will be updated around the same time as I begin shipping.

Haven’t preordered yet? Please feel free to visit my Extreme Double-knitting page. Not sure what I’m talking about? Take a look at the last 7 posts on this blog to check out what’s new in the patterns. Thanks!

Extreme Double-knitting is now ready for Preorder!

Thanks for your patience! The 2018 revision of Extreme Double-knitting is now available for preorder in print/PDF as well as digital-only versions. We expect to be shipping in September.

Please note: if you order other items along with this preorder, none of it will ship until Extreme Double-knitting is ready to ship.

Not sure yet? Stay tuned; I will be running weekly blog posts highlighting the patterns (and how they’ve changed from the original versions) starting this Friday.

Buy your double-knitting gifts soon!

Just a reminder that your last chance to order printed books and patterns from my online store (including Double or Nothing, Parallax, and Victorian Raffia, among other standalone patterns) to ensure delivery to the US by Christmas will be Tuesday, Dec 19th. If you are closer to the Northeastern US, you may be able to order later and get 2-day shipping or even 1-day shipping, but that’s not guaranteed.

Remember, if you order direct from my store (as opposed to Amazon), every book and pattern comes with a free PDF download code. You can also request a signature on your book for a nominal extra fee. Thanks for supporting small fiber businesses this year!

p.s. If you’d like to hear a recent review of Double or Nothing, the Knitmore Girls did one on their podcast back in November. I knew they were going to, but I didn’t actually hear it was out until later — so here you go.

Attention US customers: Due to the uncharacteristically high number of lost or damaged packages sent by Media Mail, I have disabled the Media Mail shipping option on my online store. For one or two books, Priority Mail is only a couple of dollars more expensive, will get you your stuff faster, and carries less risk for me. I hope you’ll agree that it’s worth a little more money to spare both of us the possible headache. Thanks for understanding.

Double or Nothing preorders are live!

don-cover-draft3-3Double or Nothing is now available for preorder! We are on track for shipping in early December, so if you’re wanting to order one as a Christmas gift, there should be no problem.

If you’re waiting for the PDF, it’ll be up on Ravelry around the same time books begin shipping.

Each book ordered from the Fallingblox Designs online store will come with a unique code that will give access to a PDF copy of the pattern.

Craftsy National Craft Month Contest

032016-CraftsyI’ve been a teacher on groundbreaking online video workshop platform Craftsy for over 3 years now. I’ve only got one class there but I hope to change that in the future. I’m really happy to be able to get my techniques out into the world, and I’m equally happy that hundreds of other instructors are doing the same and making good money at it.

What you may not know is that when you follow one of my Craftsy links, whether you buy my class or not, I get a little kickback from Craftsy for anything you do sign up for. As a matter of fact, I get more when you use my half-price link than I do when you buy my class at full price or through a normal sale. Counterintuitive? I suppose — but true.

Why am I mentioning this now? March is National Craft Month, and Craftsy is doing a marketing push in all sorts of sectors, even running a commercial on TV. What they’re trying to do is drive new people to Craftsy, and they’re helping out their instructors at the same time. I get a little bonus for every 5 new Craftsy users I get to sign up — and anyone who signs up during this event (before March 16th) is entered into a drawing to choose a craft-focused charity to receive a $1000 donation from Craftsy. If they get enough participation, they’ll double the donation!

For this reason, I’m going to be posting daily on my Facebook page about workshops on Craftsy that I think deserve your patronage. I hope this will expose more people to new workshops they might not have seen, and I hope it won’t be too annoying. Help me out, learn something new, and maybe get a windfall for your favorite crafty charity! Thanks so much!

New Workshops announcement

In the past couple of weeks I’ve signed 3 new contracts for workshops this season and I thought you should know about them! You can get more info on my events calendar, and read more about the workshops themselves on my workshops page.

Stay tuned for more, no doubt!

Spreading Rainbows Around!

VR-Tree1-72 In honor of the recent US Supreme Court ruling in favor of legalizing gay marriage in all 50 states, I’m spreading some rainbows around! From now until the end of June, Victorian Raffia is selling for half-price on Ravelry. Normally $7.95, it’s now $3.97 (just add it to your cart to see the updated price).

I’m not directly affected by this ruling myself, but I’m really happy that all my fabulous friends are going to be allowed one of the fundamental freedoms many of the rest of us take for granted. It’s a step in the right direction, America! Keep it up!

Thanks for your interest, everyone. This sale is now over, although the pattern is (of course) still available.
